Great show, guys. Didn’t know a lot about apes lore, other than the first movie and Burtons, so this was very interesting. Regarding the opening scene, I have to agree with Hunter that it is an important scene for Taylor and our understanding of and allegiance with him.

My biggest complaint with the movie is that it doesn’t really get started before they reach the lake. After that it’s gung ho, but up until then, there’s just a lot of walking and talking without much relevance to the rest of the film. This could’ve been shortened, not cut out all together, but condensed.

I haven’t seen the other apes-movies, but I just bought the uk blu ray box set, so I’ll be viewing those in the near future!
